Washington's Cross Aletheia Stage & Film
This film is an all out attack on the three philosophical pillars of our postmodern culture: relativism, pluralism, and humanism. As Christians, we not only believe in absolute truth, but that truth has come to us in the form of Jesus Christ. Relativism and pluralism deny the former. Humanism denies the latter. All three philosophies are displaying increasing hostility to orthodox Christianity. “In addition to hostility, Postmodern thought propagates illogical ideas. Christians are constantly told to privatize their beliefs and convictions and realize that what's true for one person may not be true for another because all worldviews are equally valid - except, of course, any worldview that does not acknowledge the validity of all worldviews. After all, intolerance must not be tolerated. I know. It's absurd. For some reason it is only acceptable to say such things about religion. We would never talk that way about whether or not the earth is round, or whether or not George Washington crossed the Delaware. Or would we? This film takes place in a world where postmodern beliefs are fully embraced and followed to their logical conclusion. Like many in our culture, the film's antagonists believe that those who speak the truth must be silenced because absolute truth does not exist and cannot be discovered. It can only be made by power and by popular opinion.
