“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” These classic words sum up more than the day of which Dickens wrote; they describe the times in which I and my generation live. In short, we have the best in educational opportunities, travel previous generations could only imagine, unparalleled technology and communications, attainable affluence, wealth, and a host of opportunities in ministry. Yet, the best these times offer can so deceptively be the worst when they become competing affections to my love and devotion to God. Whose heart I have confidently come to trust and delight in. My heart's desire is to be very sure of what I am anchored to in times like these—not allowing the good to rob me of God's best, but striving to make my own that for which Jesus has made me His Own. As an outflow of this heartfelt desire, these songs are prayerfully brought to you.
