THE BOOK tells the story of two men whose lives cross paths in a very unusual way. While on a routine stop for coffee and tacos at Rosa's cafe, detective John Ramos encounters the Can Man, a local dumpster diver. Rescuing him from an attack by some street punks. The off-duty cop soon discovers that the Can Man (Rafael San Martin) is a former congressional candidate and war veteran on an “extended hiatus”. A cursory gift (The Bible) from the detective ends up changing both of their lives.
