Erasmus once said, “I spend my money on books. If after that, there is any left, I buy food and shelter.” Many of us have adjusted the wisdom of Solomon complaining, “Of the buying of books there is no end.” Books, however, aren’t to be bought, but to be read. In this conversation we gather together to consider not only some of our favorite books and authors, but how they came to be our favorites.
