Farther Along The West Girls
The West Girls consist of a close knit family of a mother and three daughters. You can find them by their sweet singing at churches, bluegrass festivals, and live radio shows and concerts. The Wests make their living at home in the beautiful valley which is a horse and buggy community literally flowing with milk and honey in the hills of Tennessee.
They hope to encourage and preserve family singing and old style music. The girl's music not only pleases the ears, but touch the hearts of many.
“Farther Along” is sample of the very old hymns and forgotten songs that are also sung daily by the girls on Homestead Blessings (the name of their farm and home industry). They also write many songs themselves, some that reflect their home life and that show their love and thankfulness for all life which come from our Heavenly Father. The daughters Jasmine, Cecilia, and Hannah have been singing since they could make a joyful noise.
Mama: sings lead and soprano harmonies, she loves to play the cheese grater (for percussion) and the harmonica. Jasmine: sings lead, alto and soprano harmonies, and picks the guitar. Cecilia: sings lead, soprano and alto harmonies, plays the guitar piano and mandolin. Hannah: sings lead and alto harmonies, and plays the in whistle.
