Death is a part of life. We try hard to avoid it. We want to ignore it. Yet, each of us is eventually touched somehow by it — a parent, grandparent, child, spouse, sibling, uncle, aunt, cousin, a good friend. There is no escaping it.
Beautiful Shore tries to express the whole gamut of human emotion from overwhelming depression to bitter denial because at times we find ourselves wrestling with these unruly feelings. However, all of these emotions are a normal part of the grieving process, and they should finally lead us to a place of acceptance and peace. Even more importantly though, these songs explore some of the wonderful, biblical images of heaven — grassy fields, ivory palaces, angelic singing, shining garments, pearly gates, and streets of gold. These are pictures that truly stir our imaginations and give us something tangible and true to focus our minds upon.
